If you cannot find an answer to your question, please reach out via the Contact Page
Firstly you should read the details outlined on this website which will assist you in making the decisions needed to begin the project, for example, the size and which of the two styles available.
In particular, read the FAQ’s which contain a great deal of detail regarding the commissioning process, but if the answer to your question is not there then please reach out via the Contact page.
SusieMoo will guide you through the entire experience and will be on hand with useful practical information.
It’s helpful if you are able to provide 3–5 high-quality, in-focus photographs of the pet or subject you’d like painted. For advice on taking photographs, see below section entitled ‘Can you advise me on how to take a photo of my pet?’
After finalising the details of your project you will be required to agree a simple contract outlining the details of the commission and full costings. This is designed to prevent any surprises for you as a customer and for me as a service provider. 25% of the full price will be required as a deposit to secure your booking and payment can be made via bank transfer or PayPal.
You'll receive guidance on the time frame for your painting's completion which will depend on a number of factors including, from which range of paintings you choose and the current painting list. If you have a specific deadline in mind, it’s best you mention it when you contact SusieMoo Art and every effort will be made to meet your request. Susiemoo’s meticulous method of painting can take many hours to complete, at times up to 50 hours to finish a commission and drying times for formal portraits are much longer than the black and white range, so please bear this in mind.
Throughout the painting process, Susiemoo will periodically send you updates and photographs. Once the painting is completed, and before shopping or delivery, the final payment will be requested.
That depends on a number of factors -
Listed below are some examples of sizes and prices, but if the details you have in mind are not included (for example, the size you would like is not listed) then, please get in touch for an individual quote.
Black and White portraits with one animal placed onto the canvas, are available in two sizes and are priced as follows -
* Please note that shipping costs are not included (a quote will be supplied prior to ordering).
**This range of paintings is not suitable for more than one animal.
Formal portraits with one animal placed onto the canvas are priced as follows -
* Please note that shipping costs are not included (a quote will be supplied prior to ordering). If you would like more than one animal to be placed onto the canvas, an additional charge of £80 per extra animal will be added to the price quoted above.
All paintings will be supplied unframed and painted onto a simple plain background. Artist grade, highly pigmented oil paints are used throughout the process and are painted onto professional stretched canvases.
After finalising the details of your project, a 25% deposit of the full price will be required to secure your place on the painting list. Payment can be made via bank transfer or PayPal.
Currently I have a painting list, but each order will be given an estimated time frame for finishing. If you have a specific date in mind that you would like the painting to be ready, then please let me know when you get in contact and every effort will be made to meet your request.
Yes. Get in touch via the contact page, and when requested to, please send photographs via email or WhatsApp (if they are hard copy, simply scan them then send). Please send the original digital size of the photograph, as it was when you captured the image with your camera/mobile device. Ensure the photographs are in focus and clearly show your animal in a pose that is familiar to you. Please send as many photographs as possible, and if your pet is no longer with us, send what you have.
If you are photographing an animal for use in a portrait, take a series of pictures which then gives plenty of scope to choose from. The photographs need to be in focus, clearly showing the animal's features and it would be better if they are closely framed.
If you can, take the photograph from the same level as the animal, either you crouch to them or elevate them onto a chair or similar. Capture the animal's entire body ensuring you don't crop their ears, tail or paws. Finally, you really want to use photographs that capture your pets personality and character - what you are familiar with.
Each project will be given an estimated completion time based on its specifications and the current painting list. If you have a specific deadline in mind, feel free to mention it when you contact SusieMoo Art, and every effort will be made to meet your request.
During the painting process Susiemoo will email you with updates regarding the progress, this will include a photograph of the painting at that time. There will be a final update email sent to you once the painting process is finished, provided you are happy with this then the remaining balance will be requested and once the painting is dry, it will be sent on to you.
